On January 29 2021, Dr. Katerina Zourou (representing BlockAdemic and Web2Learn) met Dr. Panagiotis Kokkinakos (representing QualiChain and DSSLab NTUA), with the objective to enable cross-fertilisation of ideas, share lessons-learnt and identify potential synergies that may arise. The domain of education, and education innovated by new technologies in particular, as well as the use of blockchain, constituted issues of common interest.
The BlockAdemic project aims to create a digital distributed cybersecurity system for the certification and verification of educational activities, qualifications and skills in the field of higher education and lifelong learning, creating an inviolable educational passport.
Web2Learn is a team of experts qualified in the development and management of digital solutions for open and social learning. Web2Learn offers services that are grounded on Research and Development (R&D) activities reflected in academic work (peer-reviewed paper journals, book chapters, conference presentations).
This meeting acts as the first out of a potential series of discussions between the initiatives, as potential synergies and collaborative work moving forward is envisioned. Dr. Zourou and Dr. Kokkinakos will continue being in close communication and will be sharing their initiatives’ outcomes.
