The Knowledge Media Institute (KMi) of The Open University, UK celebrated on November 14 its 25th anniversary by organising the KMi Festival. The event showcased how Knowledge and Media technologies are impacting education, science and beyond. A variety of booths allowed visitors to talk in depth to different research teams and see demonstrations of the KMi work. This work included the Social Media Analytics team whose work has been featured in WIRED, the Learning Analytics team that has been shortlisted for a Times Higher Education Award, as well as scholarly data researchers whose platform now attracts more web traffic than either the OU or FutureLearn websites.
The QualiChain project was featured in a booth dedicated to the Open Blockchain initiative, which explores the different ways that blockchains impact education. KMi’s QualiChain team presented the QualiChain project to the public and answered their questions.
